The consistency conundrum

I told myself recently that I was going to write a blog post everyday. In addition to this blog post, I have a social media account me as a human, my business, and my podcast. My husband’s business that I am a sidekick also has an account that I manage. And, every morning on my me as a human page, I say Good morning Gorgeous so that I can interact with the humans on the other side of my Instagram account, daily.

The thought of doing all these things before (like as recently as last week) was a lot. But the reality is that we are in an age of content. We are building businesses, personal brands and revenue streams in a world that has never existed before. And, if you do not have a presence where valuable content (educational, entertainment or elating) is being produced, it is unlikely that you will grow a bigger audience. But, the consistency of doing all of these things - far out. A lot. But, if we break it down (like anything) into small micro actions, daily, then its easier.

Like that old corporate saying of “eat the elephant one bite at a time”. Small consistent actions that lead to a bigger thing and have a bigger purpose. The purpose beyond growing a brand. The purpose behind that is to create a positive impact through meaningful interactions and if I am not interacting, then how do I create a positive impact. 1 + 1 = 2 - simple math really.

So, I guess what I am saying is - post the thing. Make the content. Build the brand. We are in an age of high content consumption. If you can be the person that entertains, educates, excites or allows someone to exhale in a world where being sold to every second is the norm, and watching people half your age earn 5x your income is just the way it is now… that is how you will stand out. That is how you will build a genuine fan base, audience, following. And, that is how you will sell your thing. And, selling your thing means that you can live on purpose.

And, all you have to do is be consistent to live your purpose? I am in. Sorry not sorry about the incoming load of content.
